What do you think?

Ok, is Micah becoming more of a girl's name?

I really like Micah ~ as a boy's name. Yet I read that many parents are starting to use it for their little girls. I guess I don't really care, our children usually have *interesting* names anyways, but I was just curious.

So what do you think? We haven't 100% decided on a boy's name (I still think it's gonna be a girl, but I admit to not having any particular reason for this assumption). We like Cyrus too. There are a few others floating out there as well. I like Jeremiah. Oh, goodness, I always used to think boy's names were easier.....but not with *this* pregnancy!

Let me know what you think about Micah, 'kay?

I know an 18 y/o girl named Micah, so to me it's REALLY weird as a boy's name.

Cyrus? As in the Cyrus the Cyclops? Don't do that to your child lol.

Jeremiah? Eh I like Jeremy better.

I guess I like "normal" names.

I've never known any girl Micah's, only boys. What about Silas? That's my new fav boy name.

Ha, no, Cyrus as in King Cyrus in the Bible who allowed Nehemiah to return and rebuild the wall. I've never heard of Cyrus the Cyclops...

And nope, I couldn't do Jeremy, it would have to be Jeremiah (which is fine, we usually call 'em what we name 'em).

I've never known (IRL) ANY Micah's - girl or boy - yet to me it just *sounds* like a boy's name due to it's Biblical heritage.

Ya, we're definitely not a "normal" name kind of family. That's why I can't go with Jacob, or Caleb, or Luke, or Peter - all terrific, solid, Biblical names....but just fairly "normal". I guess we don't *do* normal. This explains a lot about us, eh? Although I consider Isaac & Elijah fairly normal, so who's to say?

Keep the imput coming~ I'm curious as to how different people view all these baby names choices.

The only Micah I have known was a boy. I think of it as a boy name. But if that doesn't work out there is still the ever popular Xerxes! HA!!!!!!!!

Yeah we stick to biblical names. I don't want a weird name that might mean evil, dead or something. lol

How about Josiah? (as in King Josiah) A friend of mine named her son that.

Josiah Albert would be great---but then I am juusstt a bit prejudice to that, or Josiah Dean works too. Love ya MOM

I'm a girl Micah except the "h" and the "a" are switched in my version. A word of advice do keep the "ah" for a girl because I've been called Misha (as in Barton) Misha with a long I and Monica.

I personally love Micah- I've known both boys and girls with the name. I like it more for a boy though. I always liked Callista for a girl.

I like Micah- unfortunately, my husband doesn't. I've only known boys to be named Micah also. I like the name Jerimiah too- much better than Jeremy (I agree with you here). I'm not too fond on Cyrus but it's your baby- not mine. ;) Good luck! Maybe it's a girl and you don't even have to worry about it! Have a great day!

Yes, I relize now that I spelled Jeremiah wrong...sigh...and I homeschool my children?! Sheesh...

I like Micah and Cyrus. My biggest problem with Cyrus is my connecting it with Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus. This must be due to my tweeny bopper in the house.

Ok, well, Levi has also entered the picture. It never actually "left" but it seems so many conservative families have a Levi in there somewhere.....

I really like Levi 'cause the Levites, while doing the priest job - also were the musicians many times. Since we are a musical family, I like the connection!

Hmmm...Levi Jeremiah? Oh, I still like Micah as well.....I can't decide - argh!!

And what will you name this little one if it's a little girl?

Levi must be a western name. I don't know any families over here in the East w/a Levi.

Shall we throw out "unusual" girl names?

Oh, I'm sorry - the girl name has been decided since before we found out that little Elijah was going to be a boy.

Willow Evangeline

For no other particular reason other than Momma likes it. Our other girls are Selah & Talitha, so no, we usually don't do "normal" girl names either.
