Momma's Hands (Prov.31)

I was thinking about my blog.  About "Momma's Hands".

About what I *am* doing.....what I *have* done.....what I *should* be doing......what *God wants* me to be doing with my hands.

I thought of Proverbs 31 (11-31). You know, that amazing lady that...well, has made us all feel like a failure at one point or another.

Yet no matter what your thoughts about her (perhaps you think NO ONE can do all this, she's just a nice story, this is an overview of her *whole* life, whatever), let's take a minute and look at what she DOES:

She BRINGS
She SELECTS
She WORKS
She GETS UP
She PROVIDES
She CONSIDERS
She SEES
She HOLDS
She GRASPS
She OPENS
She EXTENDS
She MAKES
She SUPPLIES
She LAUGHS
She SPEAKS
She IS FAITHFUL
She WATCHES
She FEARS THE LORD
She EARNS

What are you *DOING* as a woman of God?  God put you where you are for a reason.  What does He want you to DO in your marriage?  What does He want you to DO in your children's lives?  In your home?  In your kitchen?  In your yard?  In your job?  In your free time?  In your hobbies?  What does He want you to DO in your relationship with HIM?  In your prayer life?

No, good deeds and all won't get you into heaven.  They won't make you "more holy".  There's no check-list to complete, no to-do list to conquer (sometimes I think that would be easier....).

Yet ask God.  Then listen.  Then DO what He wants of you.
Be the woman He desires you to be. (Eph 2:10)

In *that* you will find fulfillment!!
Praise the Lord~

Lori this was absolutely inspiring to me....it's so hard when you think you're doing "it all" at once but to sit back and think about what HE wants you do to be doing...wonderful thought!! thanks for sharing this!

Lori - you are a wonderful Mother. One of the reasons is that you ask all the right questions and you ask God to guide you. As mothers we always question ourselves about what kind of job we are doing in our efforts to be the best Mother we can and we probably never quit worrying that maybe we *should* have done this or that differently. The truth is the most important thing is to show them that they are so loved, by you and by God. With love, everything else falls into place. I'm so very proud of you for your wonderful capacity to love people, your chilren, your husband, your family and friends. When I look at you I feel pretty confident that I must have done *something* right!
Always loving you,
Mom

Thank you for posting this!! It is all very inspiring! The Proverbs 31 woman has been really on my mind lately and how I can strive to be more like that!! Tall order, right? But I love your questions about where does God want us to be in every moment of our lives. Thank you for the
thought provoking post.
