My new favorite bread

Ok, this is my new favorite bread machine recipe. I got it from Vicki over at Joy Home Living (on my sidebar). I make it on the 'dough' cycle and form my own loaf for the oven to bake. It turns out perfect every time! The bread has that sort-of-sweet taste from the honey that makes it delicious with butter. This is a great compliment to dinner. Yet it also has a great consistency for slicing, which in our house means TOAST! My kids would choose toast any day for breakfast! I have also used it for sandwiches and it was delish!!

Honey Wheat Bread

1 1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. honey
1 Tbl. oil/butter
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. grains (I have always used dry oats - old fashioned)
2 c. unbleached flour
2 c. WW flour
2 tsp. active dry yeast
**I have also added vital wheat gluten - I think the box recommends 4 tsp. per loaf - and today I added ground flax seed (maybe a Tbl. or 2). Again, just perfect bread!

Put ingredients in pan in order listed. Set to dough cycle. When done, punch down dough, form into loaf and let it rise in a greased loaf pan. I usually let mine rise until just over the top of the pan. I then bake it at 350 degrees for 30-40 min. (mine is usually more towards 40). Wow - great bread!! Thanks Vicki, for posting it!

Enjoy~
