a page update: sidebar

I just quickly added some of our Homeschool Resource web pages, in case anyone is interested in what we do. Here are the basics:

The Weaver: Unit Studies
Math*U*See
1-2-3 Read! Phonics
Penmanship to Praise
Flip Flop French

With my music performance/education background, I will be giving my kids music lessons in their early years - if they show specific interest/talent in a particular area, we will work out lessons at that point.

We use NotebookingPages.com for their free pages.

I occasionally go to TheLearningPage.com for their basic unit studies and monthly free workbook pages (the kids really enjoy doing these pages while I am cooking dinner) - you have to be a member, but it's totally free.

I get CurrClick's weekly freebie sent to my inbox - if I think I might EVER use it, I download it and save it in my homeschool files for later use. That is where I got Level 1 of Flip Flop French. We just wanted to do ANYTHING but Spanish - I must be rebelling, it seems Spanish is *everywhere* so we just wanted to go a different direction. Maybe living right next to Canada will help in this area later. We'll see....

Phys.Ed. is outside. It's the beach. It's pick-up games at church. You know, just fun playing. We have no plans to put our kids in organized sports - yet.... We'll cross that bridge in the future, that *expensive* bridge..... I've been talking to other "larger" families to see how they handle sports, seeing as how we simply can't afford the money, nor the time, to have everyone in a sport every season, every year. Just don't discuss this with my father, seriously (luv ya dad!).

There's a few other good sites, such as HomeSchoolReviews. Just checking out some of the reviews give me a good idea about certain curriculums I've heard about. Good site.

Ok, enough. We'll talk more homeschool as the summer progresses towards fall....exciting!!

Hey! Glad to see you went with the MUS Alpha. I hope you like it as much as we do.
