We had a great Mother's Day weekend!
Isaac is back home, which I'm so happy about! I missed that little man. My folks stayed for the weekend, seeing as how we were having Elijah and Talitha dedicated in church Sunday morning. Along with Nana Janet & Papa Gary, plus Uncle Kenni, we had a regular ol' family-fest here over the weekend. We visited a few second-hand stores, stopped in at a local coffee-bar/cafe type of place (The Raven), spent tons of time outside letting the kids play, grilled out for dinner and ended the day with a nice fire to warm us up.
I smiled a lot. And I realised that I smiled MORE than normal. I don't know how to explain it, but I smile bigger recently. Bigger. Wider. Happier. Cool.
We are back to working on our weight - seems like a recurring theme around here. I've said it before, but I'm guessing we will have this "thorn" to deal with our whole lives. I can deal with that, but I can't deal with being depressed about it my whole life - so I need to find a happy medium. Right now we are dealing witha few new "rules":
#1. get up a bit earlier to eat breakfast
We were skipping breakfast on a regular basis
#2. get a bit more active
I'm not too worried about this. I work hard during the day. I get plenty of exercise...... well, as long as I don't pull a stay-in-our-jammies-all day. Other than that, my activity level is fine for now - perhaps I'll amp that up later.
#3. don't eat after 8pm
If you've been around here for any length of time, you know how hard this one is for me to even *think* about. Whew......it's my stress relief to eat after the kids go to bed, plain and simple. Sometimes when they nap, I'll eat a bunch (probably 'cause I skip breakfast and sometimes even lunch - so I'm starving by the time we get to quiet time) - but mainly it's nighttime eating.
I think there's one more....but I can't think of it right now.....hmmmmm.....???
And lastly, I've got lots of pictures to download, organize and share. Check back soon~

Uncle Kenni
Im glad you are smiling more!
Love ya girly!
I don't know if this would work for you or not, but I found a kind of chocolate that I *love* and it is only 30 calories for one square. Each square is very rich, so it fills my chocolate craving.
After the children are in bed, I nibble on that little square of chocolate until it's gone, and that's my treat for the night. Just knowing I have it to look forward to, helps me control my sweets cravings during the day.
