Really??? Coupons?

Hello All ~ Welcome to Thrifty Thursdays!!
There are *plenty* of ways to s t r e t c h the family dollar, yet I would guess a big one would be FOOD! Especially as your family grows (either in number or simply in age), this part of your budget is going to keep rising & rising.
I am on a new adventure in thriftiness: Coupons!!
Now.....I know what you're thinking. I used to be thinking that too. I'm still not entirely convinced (cause I'm stubborn, I guess) but I'm willing to give it a shot.
I had lunch with this lovely lady on Wednesday (and her family) and she told me all about her shopping-ways! I even got to see her coupon bin!! If you are interested, head on over there now, scroll on down to STUFF I'VE BLOGGED ABOUT, then click on "Coupon Shopper". This is a fast, easy way to get an idea of what this kind of shopping involves.

My wonderful dh already called around to the local Kroger's in this area. They double coupons every day, but only up to 50 cents (whereas, Jessica is able to get her coupons doubled at Kroger for up to $1.00). I'm not sure if this will hinder my efforts, but I really do like Kroger (except the high prices) so we'll see.
So I'll grab a few Detroit Free Press Sunday papers this week, I'll clip some coupons, I've already got a small bin to hold my coupons (need to get some of those ABC type dividers) and we'll see how things go. I'll let ya know in future Thrifty Thursdays!!
Oh.
Wait.
I didn't actually give you any Thrifty-tips, did I? Well, here's one:
STOP EATING OUT SO MUCH AND START MAKING YOUR FOOD FROM SCRATCH!!!
**said with all love & compassion from someone who has *been there, done that* and paid out the nose for it as well**

Luv ya~

You can do it! Your on the right track! Like I said even if you hit the 10 for $10 you can get stuff for free! Let me know if you have any question. I'll try and send the good deals your way.

Hey I'm a Kroger gal too. Watch for those manager specials. It's usually on items that are about to hit their sell by date but you get quite a discount (sometimes even on milk). Happy Savings!
