Demanding Your Time

(update:  you can now contact me by clicking on my profile pic ---> see right sidebar)

Hey all, it's Wondering Wednesday again!

I haven't really offered a "place" for any burning questions, so that's what I'm going to do now.  Do you have a question for me?  Are you curious about a certain aspect of our life?  Do you ever go, "Hmmm?  I wonder why she believes *that*?"  Or maybe you just want a simple recipe.

Or maybe you have a question that you're just curious about my OPINION of.  Maybe politics (yikes!) or religion (double yikes!) or why men do what they do (I have NO idea - ha!)

Maybe it's of a personal nature.....I may or may not choose to answer - or maybe I'll only answer part of it, but I'll do my best.

So go ahead:  leave a question here on the blog, in the comments section (I'm still trying to figure out a way to have an "Email Me" button w/out giving my email addy to all the spammers out there in cyberspace).  I'll try to remember to ask you again before next Wednesday.

Yet.....it's still WW so.....what *I'm* wondering is:

When you are overwhelmed, when there are simply too many demands on your time, what is it that you "give up"?  Is it the cleaning (like dusting, scrubbing the tub, etc.)?  Is it from-scratch-meals?  Do you make a few more trips through the fast food drive-thrus?  Is it your hobbies, such as sewing, crocheting, other handwork, reading, scrapbooking, etc.?  Is it exercise?  Is it your own quiet time?  Or your quiet time with the Lord?  Does your relationship with your husband go on the back burner?  Do you give up a Bible study?  Do you skip Sunday morning church?

There has to be *something*.  We all, at times, just have TOO MUCH going on.  Sometimes its through no fault of our own - maybe there's a death in the family, an unexpected trip, a child becomes ill, a friend needs your listening ear.  So what are you sacrificing during those times?  Maybe it's just getting enough sleep.

I'm just wondering....

When I'm overwhelmed I give up on an idea:) On the idea that I'm not supposed to be behind on housework and the idea that I have to have certain things done!! Just the release from that idea helps alot...even if I do keep working away!

I give up on my hobbies. My sewing gets put on hold (which I hate but it's necessary sometimes). I also haven't scrapbooked for years...literally years! =( Blogging is another thing I don't do when I'm busy. It's also been harder to keep up on my housework. Especially since school has started. Oh well. I know when my children are all grown and out of the house I'll have plenty of time to fill with my hobbies. =)

The cleaning goes - can never keep up with that. Hobbies? lol the only thing I do consistently is read....I am trying to learn to knit, but that is hit and miss. The drive thru comes into play, asking dh to bring it home. Now that homeschooling is officially in swing I am concentrating on getting into that routine before adding more to it - like a cleaning routine or the jobs chart thing again. Thanks for putting yourself out there. I really enjoy your blog.

All of the above; when I'm overwhelmed I make sure the kids and dh are fed and cleaned and well rested and for myself, gee, I try to keep up and spend a little prayer time with the Lord before falling into my pillow. What doesn't get done today will be there tomorrow and I can do it when I can. Now when dh is out of town that's another story, my only expectation is taking care of the kiddos, anything beyond that is awesome.
