Elijah Rock

Our fourth child, Elijah Rock, was named after this song.  I sang it in college and just loved it!  When we decided to name our unborn son "Elijah", we joked around about naming him Elijah ROCK - yet we thought that might be too weird.

Finally, some friends of our told us, hey - it's YOUR child.  If you love the name, who cares what everyone else thinks!

Oh, right - of course!!  So Elijah Rock he became~

I took a lot of grief for people over my boys' names and when it comes down to it, I am so happy I stuck with what Brian and I liked and didn't let them persuade me into something different. So, good for you! The name has meaning for you and makes you happy and that's awesome! Besides, he's just about one of the sweetest little guys every and I love his name!

Awww...thanks Danielle!

Why is it that people do that about baby names? Having a Selah & Talitha & Elijah Rock ~ whenever a parent shares a name with me for their upcoming child, I try to respond with enthusiasm and delight! What a wonderful time for the parent this is...why people try to ruin it with negative opinions I'll never understand.

p.s. Your boys are pretty awesome too!!

When I was born my mother was given grief over my name by my maternal grandmother. My mom said she kept on saying why did you name her that? I never heard of that name before etc.

And guess what? My name is popular lol. I have a sister Jennifer, and my grandmother (same one) gave my mo grief over that name too lol. My sister was named after an actress my mom liked and me? She just heard it somewhere.

With our children we went w/Biblical names. I'm not a fan of weird, or unknown names. And we wanted names that people can pronounce.

Lori, I love the names you and Dean have chosen for your children! I *love* Elijah Rock. I had never heard the song before, and had always assumed he was named "Rock" after Peter.
