Doesn't the new year feel good?!
It feels like a fresh start to me. A second chance....or third, or fourth...;)

up in CO, by the continental divide, in the Rockies |
Another day, another year, another opportunity. Maybe I can try something completely new or simply do what I've always done - but better!

Au Sable Institute ~ Vacation 2007 |
What I sometimes forget is that God gives us second chances. His mercies are new every morning. EVERY day. Wow. In reality, I don't have to wait for the New Year in order to start anew. I can start tomorrow morning. Heck, I can start right now. Lay down my life, once again. Give Him my burdens, and pick up His yoke. His plan for my life is always so much better than anything I could come up with anyways!

So, no, I don't necessarily have any New Year's resolutions. Yet I am starting fresh. Every day.
Praise the Lord~

Lori, I love this. SO true. For the first time in many years, I am actually making resolutions, sorta. I've joined FlyLady (which I've known about for years but never dared dabble in fear of failure) and I can honestly say that at Day 6, I'm already noticing a change in my attitude and stamina. It just might happen that my house will be as lovingly maintained as yours. That always SO impressed me. You are one amazing momma and wife. Visiting around here anytime soon?
This is a touching and beautiful post. Thanks for the reminder.

Awww....you girls are too sweet!
Colorado is simply so beautiful - most of my "pretty" pics are from there (well, other than the ones with my beautiful children of course). Tina, I would *love* to go visit CO again ~ Dean would like to take the kiddos out there again in the next few years, show 'em where we lived, show 'em the mtns, visit good friends...the works. I pray it will happen while they are still young kiddos.
I need this type of reminder daily ~ which is probably why God's Word is so important in our lives EVERY SINGLE DAY! I *need* to hear it, how He loves me, how He desires a relationship with me, how He is right here with me. Without that, I would be a depressed mess (and I AM a depressed mess if I don't read the Word enough, that's for sure).
God Bless ya, girls~
Oh, and Tina, I wish you could see my kitchen floor right now. Mostly pretzels, but I think I saw some cheese stuck there under the table. I'm too tired. I gave up a few kids ago....
(well, maybe I didn't "give up" entirely, but my standards have eased up a bit - or I would be a neurotic mess by now)
Kinda looking forward to getting a dog...mainly for the eating-food-off-my-kitchen-floor reason!! *sigh* I can't tell you the number of times I have said, "Eat OVER your bowl! OVER your bowl!!"......good thing they're adorable, eh?? ;) Good for you, Tina, I hope the Flylady is a blessing to you!!
Wonderful post, we could not start anything new without God in our lives. Happy New Year!
