Crochet : the art

I'm starting to accept the art of crochet in my life.

Not in an "I'm so awesome, look at my mad skillz" kind of way.... (ha, right)

...but more in a "This is what I love, I'm good at it, this makes me happy" kind of way.

These items take time, skill, creativity, originality, patience, determination....and when I'm done with a crocheted piece, I can sit back and say, "This is beautiful.  Useful.  It makes people smile."  And I'm happy with my work, with myself.  I am satisfied & content.

It's nice.

So when people ask about me, about Lori ~ I can tell them about being a wife, a mother, a homeschool teacher, a domestic goddess ;)  ......and about how I'm a creative yarn artist.  'Cause I am.  No apologies.

Wow.
That felt great!

What are YOU finally accepting in your life??

I'm delighted Marcie Bridges told me about your blog and am glad to be a new follower, for your words "This is what I love, I'm good at it, this makes me happy" are wise ones that are pure gold.

Artist indeed! I'm glad that the busy-ness of your life still allows time for you to practice your art. I understand what you mean, because I am a writer. I always thought I had to be published to say that, but I don't. I like writing. It's my favorite thing to do. I get satisfaction from it. I gain energy getting others to comment on it, whether in praise or in critique. I dream of being published.

Ditto "This is what I love, I'm good at it, this makes me happy"
I remember the day that it clicked for me and I was so surprised that I actually could something close to domestic. :)
